President Uhuru Kenyatta Outlines His Achievements During Jubilee's 2017 Manifesto Launch

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday led the Jubilee Party in launching its manifesto for the 2017 General Election.

During the launch, Kenyatta also took a glimpse at some of the achievements his administration had realised in the four years they have been in office.

Top on the list was the completion of the first phase of the Sh327 Billion Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project that was launched early in the month of June with the flagging off and inaugural ride on the passenger train named Madaraka Express

The President also outlined that his administration had managed to construct more than 7,000 kilometres of road since 2013, most recent among the road projects being the ongoing construction of the Sh8.5 Billion Outer Ring Road.

Third, the Jubilee administration boasts of having expanded electricity connection especially in rural parts of the country, with it's fourth achievement being that there is enhanced generation and distribution of power.

The Jubilee government also takes credit for having returned vehicle assembling plants. Top international vehicle brands that already have plants in Kenya include Japan’s Toyota, Peugeot that announced its return last year, Germany’s Volkswagen which set up in Thika in December 2016 and the US-based manufacturer Daimler Trucks Asia that is setting its base in Mombasa.

Lastly, the President asserted that there was improved global standing in terms of doing business that has been occassioned by his administration.

"Nations are not built on dreams. They are built on visions that are turned into reality. In the last four years we have laid the foundation for our country to move to the next stage," President Kenyatta urged.
