Raila Odinga Launches NASA 2017 Manifesto at the Ngong Racecourse

The National Super Alliance (NASA) on Tuesday evening launched their 2017 manifesto at the Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi.

The NASA manifesto has grouped its priorities under five main pledges it plans to work on if elected in the August elections.

The five main pledges include; to promote national unity; to uphold, guard and respect the dignity of all individuals and communities; to return the country to the path of constitutional and democratic development; end the culture of impunity; and restore sanity in the management of the economy and public affairs of our nation.

Other than the five main pledges, the alliance also delivered other key promises that include;

1. To resolve all the perennial labor disputes in 100 days.

2. To increase pay for civil servants.

3. To enact a law for controlling rents.

4. To change the constitution to have ministers selected from MPs.

5. To create a universal health fund.

6. To address peace and security challenges

7. To develop a national crop and livestock insurance system

8. To fight and abolish corruption in the country.

The NASA team noted that their manifesto was more focused on changing the systems to get results, unlike Jubilee's manifesto, that set specific targets in most areas.

“The NASA government will work to build a stronger nation committed to nurturing and protecting the well-being of the individual, the family, communities and the nation in accordance with the  Constitution,” NASA's statement read in part.
