National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka has rejected President Uhuru Kenyatta’s offer to join the Jubilee Party.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Kalonzo declared that he would not join Jubilee, describing it as a "sinking ship".
During his campaign tour of the lower Eastern region on Saturday, Uhuru had urged Kalonzo to join Jubilee offering to absorb him in his government.
“I urge my brother Kalonzo Musyoka not to be misled by Raila Odinga. Come and work with us. When I leave office, you can work with William Ruto and move this country forward,” he stated.

But Kalonzo in his response laughed off the president’s offer stating that it reflected frustration, agony and bitterness in the Jubilee party.
"It is comical for Uhuru and Ruto to ask me to join them as they march towards Opposition trenches, for that is surely where they will be after NASA takes over power," he stated.
He further dismissed claims by the Jubilee duo that he had nothing to offer his people, explaining that the electorate had confidence in his leadership as he had been re-elected four times as the MP for Mwingi.
"They are trying, too late, to curry favours with a completely disgusted electorate who have already made up their minds to reject the extremely inept, blatantly corrupt and shamelessly tribal Jubilee regime on August 8," he affirmed.
