Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery's Last Moments Before His Death at Karen Hospital

Kenyans woke up to the sad news that Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary (CS) Joseph Nkaissery had breathed his last.

While it is not yet clear what caused the death of the CS, his sudden demise has left many Kenyans in shock, since he appeared to be in good health on Friday while attending a national prayer meeting at Uhuru Park.

Kenyans.co.ke traced his last moments and some of the places he visited before his death.

Officials at Nkaissery’s Ministry revealed that he began his last day by holding a series of security meetings at his Harambee House office.

As the country approaches elections and with the threat of Al-Shabaab terror group, the CS has been busy holding meetings to ensure the nation is secure.

He then headed to Uhuru Park for the National Prayer Service in what would turn out to be his last public function. Also present at the prayer session was President Uhuru Kenyatta among other leaders.

A source close to the CS revealed to a local daily that shortly after the function, the CS headed to Karen hospital at around 3 pm.

"He actually looked okay but he said he needed to go to hospital as he was not feeling well," the source was quoted.

However, Kajiado Senator Peter Mositet told journalists that Nkaissery was rushed to hospital after collapsing moments after taking his supper.

According to the Senator, one of the CS's bodyguards claimed that after dinner, he engaged in a few exercises before falling down.

A few hours later, the CS passed on at the Karen Hospital where he was admitted.

Nkaissery was scheduled to be the chief guest at a fundraiser for needy children in Ilbisil, Kajiado County on Saturday morning.

Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service Joseph Kinyua who broke the sad news to the public stated that the country would be updated as more information becomes available.
