Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho on Saturday launched a new attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy President William Ruto.
Speaking in Kwale, Joho stated that Jubilee would not get any votes from the area despite their frequent campaigns and termed President Kenyatta and DP Ruto as ‘Italian tourists’.
“This time Uhuru and Ruto should know that when you come to Kwale you are just tourists, no different with Italians coming down here,” he stated.
The Governor also responded to DP Ruto's claims that he had little education stating that DP Ruto is best known for stealing but his days were numbered as he and President Kenyatta would lose in the August elections.
“What you know best is stealing with your education. But theft will end once they (Jubilee) go home.
"Can you teach me Port matters while I stay next to it? You ask me how do we move a Port? Why do you call it a dry port? All the people employed and business people will have nowhere to go if it happens,”Joho stated.
He further noted that Jubilee was planning to blind residents of Waitiki with free land but cautioned that they would not get any votes from the region.
"I hear they are planning to give out the Waitiki land, even if they do so, they will not get any votes from here," he mentioned.
The Mombasa County boss warned government officials against interfering with the election stating that they would be accountable once the National Super Alliance (NASA) wins the elections
“Government officials like county commissioners, coordinator, you are public servants. You will be held to account for anything you do about the election.
“I am informed they are transferring police from Mombasa but that is okay let them know we are watching them. Like those who teargassed us in Kinango, time will come and they will be answerable for their acts,” Joho stated.
On Thursday DP Ruto launched a fierce attack on Joho accusing him of "exhibiting little education” after he claimed that Jubilee was planning to move the Mombasa port to Naivasha.
