NASA to Field Single Gubernatorial Candidate in Kwale County to Beat Jubilee

The National Super Alliance (NASA) has indicated that it will change its plan to ensure it beats Jubilee in Kwale County.

Speaking during a rally in the County, NASA leaders stated they would convince gubernatorial aspirants to step down and have one candidate face incumbent Governor Salim Mvurya of Jubilee.

The Alliance has two aspirants, Wiper's Chirau Mwakwere and Issah Chipera of ODM seeking to oust Mvurya who was in the Opposition before decamping to Jubilee.

NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka noted that there was a need for the Alliance to have a single candidate if they intend to emerge victorious.

“We want to sit with both Mwakwere and Chipera and decide on who should face Mvurya. We are looking at how we will talk to the two governor candidates so we can field only one,” they stated.

Odinga dismissed claims that Kwale was a Jubilee stronghold maintaining that he is the one who had supported the Governor's political ambitions.

“Jubilee is saying that they have infiltrated the Coast through Kwale because of Mvurya. I am the one who brought Mvurya up by giving him a post but he now says he wants to work with the Government?

The same was reiterated by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi who indicated that the candidates should be willing to sacrifice their bids for the sake of the Alliance.
