President Uhuru Kenyatta on Thursday urged all media houses in the country to conduct thorough research before publishing remarks from Opposition Leaders.
In a statement to newsrooms, State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu requested media houses to challenge remarks made by NASA before publishing them.
"We would urge that all media houses seek to rigorously challenge such proclamations and apply due diligence in the publication of inflammatory remarks in line with their responsibility to serve public interests.
"I plead with the media houses not to accept opposition hogwash without question," the statement read in part.
Mr Esipisu noted that while President Kenyatta was busy going around the country campaigning for his re-election, the Opposition was also busy attempting to derail preparations for the election.
According to the President's Spokesperson, their rivals had filed over 30 cases in the courts of law with an aim of influencing, dictating and even stopping the elections from happening.
He challenged the Opposition Leaders to make a commitment and promise to accept the results of the General Election and the will of the people.
State House made the remarks in response to allegations by Opposition Leader Raila Odinga that President Kenyatta was strategising to rig the elections.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) Leaders have, however, noted that their cases are not aimed at interfering with the election dates but to ensure free, fair and credible election to all Kenyans.
