I Will Now Accompany Raila Odinga to All His Rallies in Central - Moses Kuria Declares

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria on Thursday announced that he would accompany Opposition Leader Raila Odinga to all his campaigns in the Central Kenya region.

In a Facebook post, the Legislator noted that it was not right for residents to heckle the former Premier and promised to attend all Raila rallies to deal with hecklers.

Mr Kuria made the remarks in reference to Thursday's attack of Mr Odinga's caravan in Thika where police were forced to lob teargas canisters after rowdy youth disrupted a rally by the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Kuria's remarks come just a few hours after State House Director of Digital and Diaspora Communication Dennis Itumbi also condemned the stoning and heckling of Mr Odinga in Thika, terming the incident unfortunate.

Itumbi, who often disagrees with Odinga on several issues, took to his Facebook page to condemn the recent heckling of Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto, urging Kenyans to give leaders time to sell their agendas and vote in their preferred candidates during the elections.

On Thursday, Opposition Leaders received a hostile reception in Thika where their convoy was pelted with stones disrupting the rally.

A section of the residents began to chant Jubilee slogans as Odinga made his address.

Shortly later, they hurled stones while heckling forcing the Opposition leader and his entourage to flee.
