Man Dies of Food Poisoning After Taking Samosas at KICC

A man who took samosas at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) during a trade expo held last week has been confirmed dead.

George Makosala was found dead at his house in Mbagathi area and close friends and family have revealed that he said he felt 'funny' after eating the samosas.

One of the deceased's friends, Branice Mayienga, posted on her Facebook page that they had enjoyed lunch together a day before his demise and expressed sadness at his demise.

"George Makosala...my fren...We sat together at the Kenya Trade Show at KICC and laughed and later had lunch only to hear that you are gone...a case of food poisoning...I am so so angry...Rest in peace," she said.

A neighbour of the deceased said Makosala had asked for painkillers just hours before his death and even asked her to constantly check on him.

One of the security guards went to his house only to find the door open and his body was lying lifeless along the corridor, with tears on his face and one hand on his chest.

The late Makosala intended to wed in a month's time and his fiancee, Diana Akinyi is now making funeral arrangements.

Last week, two Cabinet Secretaries, a Principal Secretary and hundreds of delegates in the country’s business circle were hit by cholera-like symptoms after they attended the same trade event.

The National Government through the Director of Medical Services at the Health Ministry Dr Jackson Kioko expressed his disappointment at the County’s slow response to the outbreak.

He also said he that it was shameful for a city to suffer from a disease so outdated such as cholera.
