Jubilee Campaign Caravan Stoned in Kisii County

National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters reportedly stoned the Jubilee Party campaign caravan at Ogembo town in Kisii County during campaign rallies held on Wednesday.

This was after Jubilee youth, led by Kitutu Chache South MP aspirant Anthony Kibagendi, arrived in the town perceived to be a NASA zone.

The Opposition supporters confronted the Jubilee crew asking them to leave immediately and went ahead to throw stones at them.

Kibagendi, however, called on the youth to shun leaders using them to gain political mileage and instead support those pushing the transformation agenda.

"We are not going to be cowed by goons paid to disrupt our peaceful campaigns," Kibagendi stated.

He added: "We are not going to take any chances in the remaining few days. We are going to move across the county to ensure President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto are re-elected. No one should stop us."

Jubilee County Interim Chairman Sammy Nyairo condemned the incident noting that politicians were free to campaign where they pleased.

Nyairo urged police officers to arrest those involved in the attack noting that the era of throwing stones was gone.

"It is primitive for somebody to pay goons to disrupt a peaceful campaign," Nyairo asserted.

Kibagendi's team has been going around Kisii County campaigning for President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kisii Senator and Gubernatorial aspirant Chris Obure, Kisii Senatorial aspirant Charles

Nyachae
and Woman Representative contender Doris Aburi who are all vying on a Jubilee ticket.
