Nicholas Biwott's Aide William Chepkut Names 2 Cabinet Secretaries He Planned to Meet Before Death

Personal Assistant to the late Nicholas Biwott, Mr William Chepkut, has revealed that the former minister had planned to meet with two serving cabinet secretaries before his death.

Mr Chepkut, who kept the former KANU leader's diary, told journalists on Wednesday that Biwott had scheduled a meeting with Finance Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich and his Energy counterpart Charles Keter.

According to Chepkut, Biwott had wanted to discuss "undisclosed details" concerning his vast business empire with the government officials.

Some of the top-notch businesses that were suspected to belong to Biwott include Yaya Centre, HZ Group of Companies, LZ Engineering, Lima Kenya (which he co-owns with former President Daniel arap Moi), Premier Group of companies and Kobil Petroleum and others.

Speaking from Biwott's Toot home, Mr Chepkut mourned his boss as having been more like a father who even encouraged him to join politics.

"I've lost a close friend and a father," Chepkut bemoaned.

The former powerful Moi-era minister is said to have had peculiar mannerisms of changing cars he was travelling in at the next bend, never ordering his own food when he ate out and always thinking that somebody was after him.

A recent report showed that Biwott's odd behaviour began soon after he swindled two of his former business partners out of ownership in the above-mentioned companies.
