A politician affiliated with the National Super Alliance (NASA) has reportedly gone missing for close to a whole week.
Rangwe MP aspirant on a Green Congress of Kenya (GCK) party Ezra Odhiambo was last seen on Saturday and has not been reached on phone since then.
According to his family, they had tried to contact him several times in vain prompting them to make a report to the police.
Confirming the incident, area OCPD Esau Ochorokodi stated that they had received the reports and were conducting investigations to trace Odhiambo's whereabouts.
“We have called his phone. It rings but nobody answers. We are investigating the matter to unearth the truth,” said Ochokorodi.
The police boss warned against claims that the aspirant had been abducted assuring that a probe was being conducted.
“Those who talk about abduction should hold their horses. Somebody may decide to conduct his affairs in a secret environment," he affirmed.
Odhiambo is vying for the seat on a GCK ticket, a party which has been supporting NASA flag bearer, Raila Odinga.
In June, party leader Martin Ogindo declare that they were part of NASA and would back the Opposition leader.
“GCK is in NASA and there shouldn’t be any doubt about it. Raila is our presidential candidate and we’re supporting him,” Ogindo announced.
