Bungoma Residents Forum (BRF) Allied to Senator Moses Wetangula to Campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta

Dissent has rocked the National Super Alliance (NASA) after Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya party allies joined the Jubilee Party re-election campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Bungoma Residents Forum (BRF) that is affiliated to Ford Kenya has vowed to embark on a door-to-door campaign for President Kenyatta after a difference of opinion with ODM leaders.

BRF has accused Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and ODM's Bungoma Governor candidate Alfred Khang'ati of undermining Senator Wetangula as an equal-stake principal within the Opposition coalition.

Led by their Chairman, Mr Elias Sikulu, the lobby group has taken issue with Governor Oparanya's accusation that Wetangula was weakening NASA by asking ODM candidates in Bungoma to step down in favour of his Ford-K candidates.

Speaking to the press on Wednesday, Mr Sikulu further emphasised that he and his team will not support NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga for the presidency.

Ford-K's Chairman in the region, Mr Wafula Wamunyinyi, echoed the sentiments stating that Governor Oparanya's sentiments were in stark contrast with the NASA agreement.

"ODM candidates should not rival Wetangula as he is one of the principals in NASA outfit," Mr Wamunyinyi rebuked.

The leader mentioned that there exists a mutual agreement within NASA that the Western region be dominated by the Ford-K and Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC) parties.
