Baringo County Chief Grisson Kokoo Murdered

A Baringo County Chief who went missing on Tuesday has been found dead.

Ng'elecha Chief Grisson Kokoo’s body was found in a bush with bullet wounds in the stomach and head.

"We found his body dumped in the forest and sprayed with bullets," a relative narrated.

Reports indicate the chief had earlier on been called by unknown people to record a statement with the police at Ng'elecha Police post but never came back.

Baringo County Commissioner Peter Okwanyo, however, denied claims the administrator had been booked for arrest.

Okwanyo noted that he had only ordered the arrest of Chief Philip Aremo of Korosi location and Chief Samson Kala of Amaya location.

The two are linked to the continuous bandit attacks in the region.

Kokoo’s body was taken to Nyahururu hospital mortuary pending investigations.

His murder comes after Paka sub-location Chief Musa Dike went missing after he was allegedly arrested by people posing as police officers.

He was last seen in Baringo East area last Thursday.
