American Pollster Zogby Declared Unreliable in US

New details have emerged indicating that the American polling firm hired by National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga was declared unreliable in the US.

The firm headed by author and public speaker, John Zogby, experienced an average error of 1.3 per cent with the same misleading result in the 2012 US presidential election opinion poll.

Through telephone interviews as well as Internet-based surveys, the company has been accused of publishing fictitious poll findings which it alters to appear to be in conformity with other leading polling firms.

Zogby on Wednesday published findings of its telephone survey giving the NASA candidate a one-point lead over President Uhuru Kenyatta, with three weeks to the General Election.

The Opposition chief was rated at 47.4 percent against Kenyatta’s 46.7, in the survey that was commissioned by the NASA coalition.

The American firm sampled 2,983 people in what they reported to have been face-to-face interviews conducted in all the 47 counties.

The reliability of Zogby polls has also been questioned based on its sampling method which is seen as coercive which is not the case with random sampling.

Reports indicate that the Opposition may have hired the firm based on various publications in America, including the New York Post, which have described Zogby as the pacesetter in the polling business.
