Raila Odinga's Daughter Winnie Odinga Reveals She Hates Attention

National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga's daughter, Winnie Odinga, has revealed that what she hates most about being the former Prime Minister's daughter is the attention that comes with it.

Winnie added that the constant glare of the limelight has held her back from living the kind of life she would like to live.

"I hate it. It holds me back. I can't get to have a private life and taking pictures the whole time is not quite what I consider having a good time," she proclaimed.

Speaking in an interview with the Pulse magazine, Winnie conveyed that she is very involved in her father's 2017 campaign for the presidency.

"I work for my dad. I'm his bodyguard, his briefcase carrier, travel companion and even his driver if need be," she conveyed.

The 27-year-old also spoke of the challenges of being part of the Opposition's campaign team, especially because of her age and her educational background.

"I didn't get to pick the schools I went to, I didn't get to choose the family to be born into.

"I sit in meetings where I'm the only female and everyone is above 40 years of age. You can see through their looks that they disapprove of my look and my accent but you can't impress everyone," she explained.

Winnie, who is Raila's last born child, strongly refuted any suggestion of her joining politics saying that she only wished for her life to be meaningful.

She also defended her statement calling for house helps to be paid Sh50,000 saying that they deserve it for the work they do.

"People thought I was just throwing around figures that I have no idea about. I'm just appalled that we don't stop to think that even house helps with their children have their own personal aspirations," she asserted.
