Deputy President William Ruto Claims NASA Using Foreign Countries to Discredit Government

Deputy President William Ruto has claimed that the National Super Alliance (NASA) is trying to win the August elections by persuading foreign countries to support it.

Speaking on Sunday in Garissa County, the Deputy President stated that the Opposition was planning to rig the elections by discrediting the Jubilee Government with the help of foreign influence.

President Uhuru Kenyatta also bashed Raila Odinga for using propaganda in his campaigns to woo voters.

During the rally at Garissa Primary School, he explained that his administration had done a lot to make sure that locals were issued with ID cards among other projects in the region.

“We have resolved the ID card problem by ensuring all genuine Kenyans get the document. We have also connected Garissa county to the national grid and started major road construction projects in the region,” he said.

The president faulted the NASA principals for being in power for long without any meaningful development in the North Eastern region.

“Kalonzo is your neighbor next door and he was in government for 35 years. Give me a single project he has done for the residents of Garissa or North Eastern. As for Mudavadi, he joined the Cabinet immediately he completed his university education, but has little to show in terms of development,” he said.

Also present at the rally which lasted roughly 30 minutes was Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, Governor candidate Ali Korane.

Last week, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria accused Raila of planning to rig the elections with the help of Tanzanian President John Magufuli.
