Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's Campaign Manager Job Tumbo Speaks on Branded Car Linked to Drug Trafficking

Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho's campaign team has spoken out concerning their association to the branded vehicle that was impounded by the police on drug trafficking charges.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Governor Joho's campaign manager Job Tumbo explained that the Governor and his team had no ties whatsoever to the car.

He went on to politicize the occurrence, accusing the Jubilee Party of trying to taint the Governor's name.

The Governor's spokesperson, Mr Richard Chacha, reiterated the statement adding that the vehicle was one of many that supporters have branded of their own accord.

"It has nothing to do with us, it is not our car. So many people have branded vehicles with our colours but they are not necessarily known to us, some are just our supporters," Mr Chacha said in a phone interview with Kenyans.co.ke.

The KCH 883H car was seized on Monday following a swoop by police where seven suspected drug traffickers were arrested with a half kilo of heroin and Sh4.5 Million.

Among those arrested is Ndechumia Bilali Kimali who is out on a Sh10 Million bond after he was charged with two counts of trafficking 7.6kg of heroin in 2015.
