Former President Mwai Kibaki Did Not Sack Me, Stop Lying! - Jeremiah Kianga Tells Kalonzo Musyoka

Former Chief of General Staff Jeremiah Kianga has asked National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka to stop lying that he (Kianga) was sacked by former President Mwai Kibaki.

Last week, Mr Musyoka claimed that Kianga, who is from the Kamba community, was forced to resign as a strategy to block him (Kalonzo) from ascending to power.

The Wiper leader went ahead to ask Kianga to abandon Jubilee and accept the offer to become a Cabinet Secretary under NASA.

Kianga has, however, refuted the claims saying he served two more years as Chief of Defense Forces after the end of his four-year term.

"Kalonzo said I didn't complete my term as Chief of General Staff during Kibaki's régime, but that is not correct.

"I even served two more years in that position with the request of the then Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces," he said.

The former Chief of Staff spoke at Tawa in Mbooni constituency during the inspection of Tawa Medical Training college by Health CS Cleopa Mailu.

Regarding the call to abandon Jubilee Party, Mr Kiangi stated: "Kalonzo has occasionally asked me in public to abandon Jubilee because Kibaki didn't help him ascend to power when he was Vice President."

"I had to tell him off because there will be more benefits in supporting the government than being in the Opposition," he said.

Kianga endorsed Mbooni MP Kisoi Munyao and urged Kambas to re-elect President Uhuru Kenyatta if they want projects initiated in the region to be completed.
