Rowdy Youth Disrupt Rachael Shebesh's Meeting

A meeting organised by Nairobi Woman Representative Rachael Shebesh was on Thursday disrupted after chaos erupted.

Shebesh was meeting a section of Nairobi women at a church located near Nairobi Railways when rowdy youth stormed in causing a fracas.

The group claimed that the meeting was organised to “buy” voters in order to jeopardise the chances of the National Super Alliance (NASA) winning the August General Election.

“We are very vigilant and have decided that in whichever way, we must protect baba's votes,” one of the youth claimed.

However, those attending the meeting dismissed the allegations stating that Shebesh had organised the meeting to request for their votes.

“She is our fellow woman and is concerned about our affairs. Is there any problem when she calls us here to give us some unga and ask for our votes?” one of the rowdy youth stated.

On her part, Shebesh maintained that as the representative of Nairobi women, she was working on uplifting the status of her constituents.

“These are Nairobi women and as their representative, they need several services such as bursaries for their kids,” she stated.

The meeting later continued under tight police supervision.

She further sent a strict caution to her competitor, ODM's Esther Passaris, warning her against provoking her.
