NASA Beats Jubilee in New Infotrak Nairobi Poll

A new poll conducted by Infotrak research firm has revealed that the National Super Alliance (NASA) is ahead of Jubilee Party in Nairobi County.

In the poll, NASA emerged as the most popular coalition with a popularity rating of 54% ahead of Jubilee's 38% rating.

The study found that Opposition Leader Raila Odinga is the most preferred candidate in Nairobi with a rating of 56%.

President Uhuru Kenyatta came in second with 40% of the total rating.

The survey further showed that Nairobi gubernatorial candidates, incumbent Governor Evans Kidero and Senator Mike Sonko are in a neck-and-neck battle with each polling at 45%.

Independent governorship candidates Peter Kenneth and Miguna Miguna came in third and fourth respectively with a rating of 3.3% and 2.0% respectively.

Nominated Senator Johnson Sakaja of Jubilee Party leads the Senatorial race with 50% followed by Lawyer Edwin Sifuna of the Orange Democratic Movement  (ODM) who garnered 28%.

Independent candidate Ms Suzanne Silantoi Lenge got 1.5%.

20% of the electorate is still undecided on who to support for Senator seat.

In the Woman Representative race, Esther Passaris of ODM got 61% followed by incumbent Rachel Shebesh who garnered 28%.

The poll showed that NASA has a clear lead in 7 out of the 17 constituencies in Nairobi whereas Jubilee would win in 5. The remaining 5 constituencies were marked as swing areas. 

The research was conducted between 5th July to 22nd July 2017 where 15,000 respondents were engaged in a face to face interview.
