NASA Flag Bearer Raila Odinga Endorses Wiper Candidate Patrick Makau over ODM’s Michael Mutuku for Mavoko MP Seat

National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has asked Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate Michael Mutuku to step down for Wiper’s Patrick Makau in the race for Mavoko Parliamentary seat.

Speaking during a rally at Mavoko Stadium in Athi River town on Saturday, the Opposition leader stated that two parties should not field candidates for Ukambani MP and MCA positions so to prevent division.

“We will talk to the ODM candidate so that we support Makau and as ODM party will talk with Wiper so that we do not divide votes,” he stated.

Raila assured the ODM politician that he would give him a position in the NASA government if elected during the August elections.

He observed that the friendly fire between the two collaborating parties could advantage Jubilee and Maendeleo Chap Chap candidates as they divided votes in the region.

“Kalonzo Musyoka na mimi ni kama chanda na pete. Hatutaki mgawanyiko wa kura hapa Ukambani (Kalonzo and I are close. We do not want division in Ukambani)," the NASA leader explained.

He also endorsed Wiper’s Machakos governor candidate Wavinya Ndeti and ODM's Athi River Township MCA hopeful Tyrus Omondi.

NASA presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka echoed Raila’s words adding that the coalition had strong grassroots support through out the country.

“Kenya imeamua tarehe nane mwezi wa nane ni siku ya mabadiliko. Wale wenye wanameza mate wengine wakikula nyama ndio wengi zaidi (Kenyans have decided that August 8 will be a day for change. There are many who salivate as others eat meat)," he stated.
