President Uhuru Kenyatta Heckled During Campaign Rally in Wote, Makueni County

President Uhuru Kenyatta was forced to cut short his speech after he was heckled and booed during a campaign rally in Wote, Makueni County.

Kenyatta was in the area to drum up support for Jubilee Party and woo voters to hand him a second term in office.

The crowd interrupted part of his speech as they chanted pro-NASA songs.

According to State House Director of Digital Communications Dennis Itumbi, the heckling had been organised by opposition leaders and he singled out NASA leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the mastermind.

The region is mainly considered an Opposition stronghold but the President and DP William Ruto went ahead to sell their agenda and highlighted what they had achieved during their tenure in government.

"We are here to seek your vote. The roads we have built here will connect the three counties of Ukambani and create business opportunities," said the Head of State.

His sentiments were echoed by Ruto who also stated that the Jubilee regime had equipped Makueni hospitals and built a Sh300 million stadium in Wote.

The President is set to visit Mombasa County later today as he completes his final campaign lap.
