An Administration Police officer in Kinangop, Nyandarua County has been arrested after spraying his colleague with nine bullets on Thursday morning.
Justus Mwangi is said to have argued with the deceased, Solomon Wainaina, at the Engineer Police Station before shooting him in the head.
The officer is said to have engaged in a heated argument with one of his juniors regarding the night duty. He later returned to the station and had another argument with his senior before turning on Wainaina.
According to witnesses, they first thought that the area had been attacked only to be informed about the incident which involved the two officers who were well known to the locals.
"We thought the attackers were criminals only to learn later that it was a fight between two police officers," stated a resident.
The deceased was rushed to Kinangop hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Confirming the incident, area OCPD Huka Mohamed said the suspect had been arrested and was being detained at the police station.
He added that investigations had begun and Mwangi would be arraigned in court soon.
