The Kenyan Song That Has Gotten Over a Million Views in 12 Days

One Kenyan video has taken especially social media by storm by gathering over 1.1 Million views in just 12 days.

The +254 Tuko na plus Kibao song is laced with lyrics that are geared towards motivating a sense of pride in Kenyans all over and the song has become a clear favourite of many.

The message is inspiring with its call for Kenyans to take up the mantle to be the country’s ambassadors in terms of peace and investment.

The song brings a nostalgic feeling of how we are one as a community and how we can do and achieve more when we get together.

Key among the achievements the country is proud of is breaking records, especially in the athletics sector.

Most recently, the IAAF record of the largest crowd to attend a U-18 Championship was broken when a capacity crowd of 60,000 people filed the Kasarani Stadium where the event was taking place.

Tourism has also been a major plus with foreigners arriving in Kenya to enjoy the beautiful breathtaking sceneries around the country.

For instance, tourists have been thronging into the country to witness the 8th wonder of the world which is the wildebeest migration at the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.

Kenyan social media is also a source of pride being a tool of awareness creation and running campaigns that change lives.

An example is the 2011 Kenyans for Kenya campaign where Kenyans united through social media to contribute and help others affected by one of the country's drought.

Even in negative situations, the online fraternity popularly referred to as Kenyans on Twitter (KoT) has always found a way of creating humour.

The social media community has always been ready to defend the nation with hashtags such as #SomeoneTellCNN, when they feel the country has been negatively targeted.

If the comments on the +254 Tuko Na Plus Kibao video are anything to go by, this song is truly a symbol of national pride.
