Chaos in NASA's final rally in Mombasa as Hassan Joho and Hassan Omar's Supporters Clash

Chaos erupted at the National Super Alliance (NASA) final rally in Mombasa when Governor Ali Hassan Joho's supporters clashed with Senator Hassan Omar's.

The commotion arose at the Friday rally at Tononoka grounds when Joho's supporters allegedly blocked Omar from accessing the dias as pepper spray was reported to have been used in the confusion.

The rally was temporarily interrupted but GSU police stepped in to restore calm.

ODM and Wiper candidates earlier sat in separate tents as it was not sure who NASA leader Raila Odinga would endorse for Mombasa governorship.

When Odinga took to the podium, he presented both candidates but the NASA flag bearer declined to endorse either of them as the crowd shouted him down.

"Hii ni mkutano ya urais and tarehe nane Mombasa mtaamua kama ni Joho ama ni Sarai (This is a presidential rally and it is okay who you decide to elect in Mombasa; be it Joho or Sarai)," he stated.

He was accompanied by his running mate Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka whose attempts to calm the crowd down were futile.

Meanwhile, the Jubilee team led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto was at Uhuru Park in Nairobi in a bid to consolidate the Capital City votes.
