Jubilee MCA Candidate for Bokichar Ward, John Onsomu Okebiro Passes Away

A Jubilee candidate vying for Member of County Assembly for Bogichar Ward has passed away.

72-year-old John Onsomu Okebiro, died at Ram Hospital in Kisii after a long-term illness. 

According to his sister Rose Nyanduko, Okebiro was admitted to hospital after suffering exhaustion which resulted from depleted levels of blood sugar.

She confirmed that her brother had been battling diabetes for a long time.

Okebiro was among the front runners after edging out seven other contestants to clinch the Jubilee ticket.

As per the Constitution, the election for the Bogichar MCA Ward seat will be postponed until the party identifies a replacement candidate for the position.

Last month, Jubilee Party Kitutu Chache South Parliamentary aspirant Leonard Mwamba was killed after he was involved in a road accident at Nyakoe Market along Kisii-Kisumu road.

Mwamba died after the Land Cruiser Prado he was traveling in lost control and crashed.
