Outgoing Governor Kenneth Lusaka Demands Recognition from Jubilee Party

Outgoing Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka on Friday night demanded to be acknowledged by the President Uhuru Kenyatta for his efforts in ensuring victory for Jubilee Party.

Speaking at the Bomas of Kenya before the announcement of the presidential results, Lusaka who lost his seat stated that he had contributed towards securing the many votes President Kenyatta garnered in the Western region.

The politician stated that he deserved credit for delivering a lot of Jubilee votes from a region perceived to be NASA stronghold.

"Despite Bungoma being home to NASA co-principal Moses Masika Wetangula, I delivered a resounding victory for Jubilee," he stated.

The controversial politician went ahead to explain how the region was entirely a NASA zone before he joined Jubilee Party.

Mr Lusaka who was defending his seat on a Jubilee lost his rival Wycliffe Wangamati who was vying on a Ford Kenya ticket.

He further hailed Jubilee for the good development record in the region citing it as one of the major reasons it received support from his county.

Despite losing governorship, the Jubilee Party received overwhelming support from Bungoma compared to the votes Kenyatta got in the 2013 election.
