President William Ruto has reappointed Faith Boinett as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Pipeline Company, despite public pressure.
In a gazette notice dated Friday, December 19, Ruto appointed Bionett for a term of three years, effective December 23, 2025.
"IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporations Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint FAITH BOINETT to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 23rd December, 2025," the notice reads.
Ruto first appointed Boinett to this role on December 23, 2022, for a three-year term, succeeding Rita Achieng Okuthe.
At the same time, the Education Cabinet Secretary, Julius Ogamba, has revoked the appointment of Professor Ben Chumo as the Chairman of Kenyatta University Council.
Ogamba instead appointed Professor Clara Samiji Momanyi as the Chairperson of the Council for a term of three years starting December 19.
"IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 36 (1) of the Universities Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Education appoints– Under paragraph (a)–
Clara Samiji Momanyi (Prof.) to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Council of the Kenyatta University, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from 19th December 2025," says the notice from Ogamba.
Adding, "The *appointment of Ben Chumo (Dr) is revoked."

The latest appointments follow those that President Ruto made on November 21, 2025, when President Ruto appointed James Dianga as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA).
On the same day, November 21, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba appointed Peter Keiyoro as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Council of Tharaka University.
Aside from CS Ogamba's appointment of Peter Keiyoro, Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe and CS Energy, Opiyo Wandayi, also realigned their dockets. CS Kagwe reappointed John Mtuta Mruttu as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Agricultural Finance Corporation (AFC). On the other hand, CS Wandayi, in reference to the Energy Act, 2019, appointed Francis Agar as a member of the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA).
All the appointments and reappointments were constitutional for a period of three years.
