IEBC Publishes Form 34Bs on its Online Portal

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has responded to demands by the National Super Alliance (NASA) and European Union Observers to publish all poll result forms on its website.

The electoral commission on Wednesday announced that it had published all Form 34Bs on its portal making the information accessible to the public.

The European Union observers had earlier Wednesday directed IEBC to publish all poll result forms on its website to prevent further disgruntlement.

This came after members of the opposition demanded to be shown form 34As to confirm that the polls were credible.

The mission also stated that availing statistics to the public would ensure transparency thus boosting confidence among all stakeholders.

Additionally, they asked the government to desist from intimidating civil society groups as was seen recently when there was a crackdown on several Non-Governmental Organisations.

The observers further directed the police to bring order without escalating tensions or using live bullets against protesters unhappy with the presidential results.

Moreover, they stated that they would cast a studious eye over the concerns raised as well as the judicial process to ensure justice is served.

“The EU Election Observers Mission will carefully look at concerns raised and at the judicial petitions processes,” read the statement in part.

Meanwhile, in their major press address yesterday, NASA leaders noted that the failure by IEBC to provide them with all the Form 34As a week after the election indicated mystery.

The team further noted that the admission by IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba that the Commission was not able to supply all Form34As yet, meant that both the provisional and final results announced last week are null and void and that Uhuru Kenyatta was not lawfully declared the winner.
