The National Super Alliance (NASA) will have to pay Sh1.5 Million when filing the presidential election petition at the Supreme Court.
According to the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Anne Amadi, the Alliance will part with Sh500,000 fees for filing the case.
Amadi further stated that the Opposition leaders will also be required to also pay Sh1 Million as "security for cost".
Depending on the kind of documents that will be filed at the court, the Registrar divulged that an assessment will be done and NASA might have to add an extra amount which will be nominal.
She confirmed that the Alliance was yet to present the petition but noted that the registry would remain open until Friday midnight which will be the deadline for filing the case.
Once the Opposition leaders present their case, the court registry will have to assess the petition to affirm that all documents that are supposed to presented legally are in order and avoid giving the judges documents that are faulty.
After presenting the case, NASA will then have two days to serve the defendants. The defendants will have four more days to give their response.
Ms Amadi divulged that the actual proceedings would start on the eighth day after the filing of the petition.
On Wednesday, NASA leader Raila Odinga announced that he would head to the highest court in the land to challenge the declaration of President Uhuru Kenyatta as the winner of the presidential race.
"We have now decided to move to the supreme court and lay in front of the world the making of a computer generated elections. We will show how they shamelessly cooked results from non-existent polling stations and fake un-gazetted Presiding and Returning officers. They gave figures from non-existent Forms 34A and 34B,” he stated.
