William Kabogo Promises to Support Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu

Outgoing Kiambu Governor William Kabogo surprisingly attended the swearing-in of Governor-elect Ferdinand Waititu.

The colourful ceremony was organised at the Ndumberi Stadium where Lady Justice Stella Mutuku led in swearing in the former Kabete Member of Parliament (MP).

After Waititu took the oath of office, Kabogo was given a chance to address the public where he congratulated the incoming county boss for his win.

He announced to a jubilant crowd that he would support Waititu as he continues implementing development projects in the county.

The outgoing governor stated that he had an obligation to attend the event in order to hand over the instruments of power.

“Four years ago, the people of Kiambu gave me and my deputy power to run the county affairs, and here today they give it to you. We must work together or we will perish together as fools,” he stated.

The event was also attended by government representatives including Gender and Youth Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki and her ICT counterpart Joe Mucheru.

Others present were various elected leaders from Kiambu including Senator Kimani Wamatangi and Nakuru governor-elect Lee Kinyanjui.
