Raphael Tuju Reveals How Jubilee will Respond to the NASA Petition

Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has revealed that the party has a team of lawyers who are already studying the petition challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta's win.

The Sunday Nation reported that Jubilee had deployed all its resources to ensure that they have a water-tight reply to the petition.

The Jubilee lawyers were formulating a comprehensive response to the petition but would only reply to what affects them.

"We’re looking at the petition. But you realise it is IEBC (Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission) that declared the results and, therefore, our response will only be in relevant areas,” Mr Tuju explained.

Tuju, however, declined to reveal how many lawyers the party had at its disposal.

“We have a controlled system and we only release information on need be basis,” he added.

The party secretary general expressed confidence that Uhuru's re-election would be upheld adding that they would accept whatever outcome the Supreme Court would render after hearing the petition.

“They tell us they won the presidency but circumstantial evidence shows us otherwise. We have the majority in Parliament and also majority governors,” he said.

Earlier on, Senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi had revealed unknown details of the NASA petition.
