The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Sunday evening revealed that the National Super Alliance (NASA) was yet to serve them with the petition documents.
Through their social media account, the electoral body further claimed that their attempts to collect the documents from the opposition coalition's lawyers were not successful.
In a quick rejoinder, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Communications Director Philip Etale refuted the claims that NASA was yet to serve IEBC with the petition documents.
NASA’s Senior Counsel Mr Paul Mwangi termed IEBC’s claims as mischevious assuring that all parties to the presidential election petition had been served.
He added that the Opposition coalition had advertised the petition in The Standard as prescribed by the law.
The Electoral laws state that Service of a petition may be direct or by advertisement in a newspaper with national circulation.
