President Uhuru to Attend Mzee Jomo Kenyatta's Memorial Service at St. Stephen's Church Jogoo Road

State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu has announced that President Uhuru Kenyatta will tomorrow Tuesday, 22nd August 2017, lead the nation in commemorating the passing on of Kenya's founding father the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

The President is expected to lay a wreath at the Mausoleum in Parliament’s precincts as has been the tradition and will later proceed to St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Jogoo Road, Nairobi at 9:00 a.m for a memorial service.

This may lead to a traffic snarl up between 8 am and 9 am as the presidential motorcade makes its way to the church via Jogoo Road.

This will be the 39th anniversary of Mzee Kenyatta's death.

President Kenyatta on Monday attended the swearing-in ceremony Nairobi governor Mike Sonko and lauded outgoing governor Evans Kidero for accepting defeat.
