Musalia Mudavadi Asks Supreme Court Judges to Read Individual Ruling on Presidential Petition

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi, who is also a NASA co-principal, has issued a demand to Supreme Court judges presiding over the presidential petition.

Speaking during the inauguration of Vihiga Governor Wilberforce Ottichilo at Kidundu grounds, Mudavadi demanded that each of the seven judges read their individual decisions.

He stated that when delivering their judgment regarding the petition, they should not read a collective ruling but each judge must give their own pronouncement regarding the matter.

“We don’t want justice to be frustrated. Let them read their verdicts individually and tell Kenyans their stand in broad daylight,” he demanded.

He highlighted that they had now left the fate of the case with their lawyers and the judges who are expected to give a ruling of either nullifying the concluded polls or upholding President Uhuru Kenyatta's win.

At the same time, he urged the seven Supreme Court judges to ensure they deliver justice to Kenyans.

“We want leaders to be elected in a transparent manner devoid of irregularities. We are waiting for the courts to make their ruling,” he stated.

On Friday, NASA filed a 25,000-page petition at the Court seeking to have the presidential election nullified.

The Alliance on Sunday afternoon served the Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) which is the main respondent.

The electoral body, together with the other respondents, is expected to file a response within the next four days after which the hearing of the case will begin.
