NASA's Key Witness in Election Petition Claims His Life is in Danger

A key witness in the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential election petition has come out to claim that his life is in danger.

Mr Moses Wamuru, the Embu ODM Chairman, on Tuesday alleged that suspicious people have been following him.

"I do not feel secure. In the last three days, I have noticed people trailing me. I have been receiving information from very close friends in places that I frequent. I have visited several entertainment joints and people have told me I am not safe there," a fearful Wamuru told journalists.

Mr Wamuru, who acted as the NASA chief agent in Embu, claims to have witnessed rampant election irregularities in polling stations during the 2017 General Election.

He accused election officials of having significantly reduced presidential votes cast for NASA leader Raila Odinga in some of the areas in the county.

"At Karurumo Polytechnic, Kieni South, the NASA agent noted and raised complaints on voters being given between 2 and 3 Presidential ballot papers.

"At one time, the NASA agent confronted the voter and clerk and witnessed that the voter had 8 ballot papers," Wamuru's sworn affidavit reads in part.

"However, I am not cowed… any amount of intimidation cannot change what has been written. Those who feel aggrieved by my revealing of the truth must wait to prove their innocence in a court of law," Wamuru asserted.
