Jubilee Ukambani Leaders Accuse PS Monica Juma of Illegally Withdrawing Agents' Funds

Jubilee Party leaders in Ukambani have expressed their frustrations on the non-payment of its election party agents accusing a senior government official of being involved in withholding the funds.

Led by Lemi Muia who lost the Machakos gubernatorial race on a Jubilee Party ticket, the leaders have stated that Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary (PS) Monica Juma is involved in seizing the funds.

Mr Muia further stated that he has evidence to prove that the PS has seized all the money that was meant for the party agents in the region.

"Money that was assigned to the agents that leaders should have used to pay them was withdrawn from upper hill equity bank by the Foreign Affairs PS," he noted.

Speaking to the press, the leaders indicated that they are receiving distressing calls from the agents demanding for the pay yet they cannot access the money.

The Jubilee leaders also noted that they are receiving complaints from the officials who have not received allowances despite working for more than three days during the election period.

Besides payment, the leaders also cited frustration in finding election agents in the region as most of them did not avail themselves during the poll day.

Mr Muia has called on the investigation agencies to launch a probe into the matter failure to which they will move to court.
