NASA Lawyers Issue Final Statement After Receiving IEBC Petition Papers

National Super Alliance (NASA) lawyer and Siaya Senator James Orengo has revealed that they have already found massive irregularities with the papers filed by IEBC in the presidential election petition.

Speaking after submitting NASA's written submission at Supreme Court on Friday afternoon, Orengo stated that the documents filed by the electoral body were "forgeries and fake".

He stated that the documents lacked security features that are in accordance with IEBC guidelines and maintained that they would prove that in court.

Orengo was part of a team of lawyers who were filing their counter responses to submissions filed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and the IEBC.

He also revealed that the Opposition has filed a new application to open the servers and provide the logs for the systems used during the election process.

"We want an audit of the servers and the logs that were used during the elections.

"In my many years of practice, I've never seen such magnitude of fraud and forgery in an election.

"We have a bombshell," revealed Orengo after gone through the IEBC response.

President Kenyatta on Thursday night responded to the petition by Raila Odinga seeking nullification of his win over what they called a “fatally compromised” General Election.

The Head of State dismissed claims that the August 8 vote was marred with massive irregularities and tampering, asserting that the difference between the votes he garnered and those secured by National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga was a clear demonstration that the will of the people prevailed.

“The difference between the votes cast in my favour and those cast in favour of the Odinga is 1,401,286.

"Such a margin is significant and emphatically demonstrates the sovereign will of the people of Kenya,” he stated in the affidavit drawn by Ogetto, Otachi and Company Advocates.
