Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has exposed various corrupt practices within the county government involving county managers.
Speaking on Monday, Governor Kinyanjui gave notice to managers in the Public Service Management Board for shameful practices he claimed had been adversely mentioned concerning them.
"I hereby put on notice the Public Service Management Board, which has been adversely and regularly mentioned in recruitment malpractices including bribery, and sexual exploitation," the Governor's stated.
The Governor ordered six top county officials to take a compulsory one-month leave to pave way for corruption investigations.
"I note with much regret that a huge percentage of monies collected from the various levy points ends up in the pockets of some of those entrusted with that responsibility.
"I have with immediate effect sent the following officers on a one-month compulsory leave to pave way for investigations," Governor Kinyanjui noted.
The six were named as follows: County Secretary Joseph Motari, Director of Finance Wilson Mungai, Director of Procurement Eliezar Ngarari, Head of Enforcement Joseph Kiara, Deputy Head of Enforcement Charles Nyanaro and Head of Accounts Dan Odundo.
The Governor also sent all officers employed as Sub County Administrators, Deputy Sub County Administrators and Ward Administrators on an indefinite compulsory leave as his government seeks to establish their suitability for the jobs they hold.
