Two secondary schools in Busia County suffered a fire incident on Monday morning.
The schools include Bujumba Boys Secondary School and Makunda Mixed Secondary.
Two mattresses and a food store were partially burnt in the incident.
Students at Bujumba Boys are alleged to have set their mattresses on fire. The inferno was however contained before causing more damage.
On Saturday, eight students lost their lives while 10 others were hospitalised after they suffered severe injuries following a dormitory fire at Moi Girls School in Nairobi.
The fire incident is reported to have occurred on Friday night between 2 am and 3 am.

Still on Saturday, fire incidents were witnessed in Sigoti Girls Secondary School in Nyakach area, Kisumu County and in Vitale HGM Primary School in Makueni.
No casualties were reported in the incidents, however, the students lost their property.
