18 NASA Politicians Vow to Campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta

18 National Super Alliance (NASA) Member of County Assembly candidates who lost in the August elections have vowed to campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of the repeat presidential election.

The 18 politicians were led by former Kitui Senator David Musila, who led other Ukamabani leaders in defecting from NASA to the Jubilee Party last month.

Musila announced the community was fed up with being held hostage to the political decisions of National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka.

He added that they did not wish to be locked out of government for the next term.

On Tuesday, Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) candidate for Bungoma gubernatorial seat in the August elections, Alfred Khang'ati, announced he would campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.

Mr Khang’ati stated that he was unhappy with the way ODM leader Raila Odinga treated him during the elections, which he lost to Ford-Kenya candidate Wycliffe Wangamati.

He noted that he had convinced other ODM members in the region to back Jubilee in the upcoming presidential election, adding that it was not compulsory for ODM members in Bungoma to campaign for Mr Odinga for the October 17 elections.

"We are tired of being played by our party leader Raila Odinga and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula. All ODM aspirants in Bungoma were not assisted financially or morally by our party leaders or coalition partners in the last elections," Khang'ati stated.

Paul Otuoma, who vied for the Busia Governor's seat as an independent but lost to Sospeter Ojaamong, also announced his decision to back Mr Kenyatta.

He claimed that ODM had shown favouritism all through the last electioneering period.

President Kenyatta also received a delegation of Western Kenya leaders at State House on Tuesday led by former Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba, newly-appointed Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka and Presidential Candidate in the August 8th election Cyrus Jirongo.
