The Jubilee Party has declined to hold a meeting with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) that had been scheduled for Thursday.
Jubilee demanded that the National Super Alliance (NASA) should be in attendance since they also had issues that they wanted IEBC to address.
Following the stalemate, IEBC will now be forced to set another meeting next week.
On Wednesday, IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati had scheduled a meeting with Jubilee and NASA to iron out some of the contentious issues revolving around the election set for October 17.
Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju rejected the new team appointed by Chebukati to oversee the fresh presidential election.
Through a letter to the Commission, Tuju argued that some individuals in the election project team were known to be partisan.
On Tuesday, NASA leader Raila Odinga rejected the new Presidential election date set by the IEBC.
Odinga argued that IEBC had not consulted NASA on the matter adding that there were thorny issues that needed to be taken care of first before the elections are conducted.
On Monday, IEBC announced that the fresh presidential election ordered by the Supreme Court would be held on Tuesday, October 17.
At the same time, Chebukati appointed a project team for the October 17 election who include:
Project coordinator: Mr Marjan Hussein Marjan
Head of Operations: Dr Sidney Namulungu
Head of Logistics: Ms Nancy Kariuki
Head of Training: Mr Bernard Misati Moseti
Head of ICT: Mr Albert Gogo who will be under the direct supervision of the national returning officer
Head of National Tallying Center: Mr Silas Rotich
