Deputy President William Ruto Orders Supreme Court to Apologise

Deputy President William Ruto has asked the Supreme Court to apologise to Kenyans for nullifying President Uhuru Kenyatta's win.

Speaking on Saturday during a rally at Uhuru Park, Ruto stated that the Supreme Court committed a great offence by overturning the will of the people.

The DP noted that at the heart of every democracy, the decision of the people was more supreme.

“We are telling the Supreme Court, sooner than later you should come to your senses and apologise for this great evil you have committed to the people of Kenya,” DP Ruto stated.

“The Supreme Court was used by conmen. They conspired to overturn the will of 15 Million Kenyans,” he added.

Last week President Kenyatta vowed to "fix" the Judiciary if he is re-elected in the upcoming presidential elections.

The President insisted that even though he respected the ruling to nullify his win in the August polls, the judgment in itself was wrong both in principle and fact.

“The Supreme Court sat and decided that they are the ones with a bigger power than the 15 million Kenyans who woke up, queued in lines, and voted for their preferred presidential candidate. As a Supreme Court, they cannot annul the wish of the people,” Kenyatta stated.

Kenyatta noted that if he wins the polls, he would revisit the issue of the Supreme Court.
