Governor Mike Sonko's New Announcement to Nairobi Residents

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has announced that he will not fire any of the county workers who worked during former Governor Evans Kidero's regime.

Addressing Jubilee supporters at Uhuru Park, Sonko noted that he understood they had families to provide for adding that the workers would always be paid by 25th of every month.

The Governor further affirmed that he would not allow harassment of any resident especially the traders working within the City.

He cautioned all the city council workers against mistreating business persons urging them to follow the law.

Mr Sonko warned that any worker accused of harassing a trader through beating or any other means shall be sacked and prosecuted.

He further directed the city askaris to handle the city residents with care noting that before taking action on anyone, the county workers ought to issue warnings.

The Governor also affirmed to the residents that his government was on its way to restoring the glory of Nairobi County by getting rid of corruption.

He cited an incidence where he nabbed a county official with Sh7 Million at City Hall during one of his impromptu visits to the various offices.

He, therefore, called on city residents to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming presidential elections so that he can implement his development agenda.

The campaign rally was addressed by President Kenyatta and his Deputy President William Ruto.
