Police Recover 2000 Bullets in Lavington, Nairobi

Police officers on Saturday recovered 2,040 bullets, two bulletproof jackets and gun digest books for training in modern shooting inside an abandoned house in Lavington, Nairobi.

The officers also recovered special cartridges used for killing elephants and birds which triggered suspicions of poaching.

The armoury is suspected to belong to a suspected international criminal who is believed to have left the country in 2014.

According to Dagoretti DCIO Joseph Ondoro, the gun and rifles digest books are used to train special military forces.

Ondoro stated that the suspect must be an international criminal who was training people on how to use arms in crimes.

“When the police came to this house, they found these two safes, the big one and the smaller one. We have recovered the largest assortment of armours in Nairobi this year,” Ondoro stated.

The landlady of the house confirmed that during the suspect's stay in Kenya between 2000 and 2005, he used to travel to Tanzania a lot.

The officers stated they would conduct investigations by partnering with international agencies to bring the suspect to book.
