The National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition is facing a potential split as affiliate parties accuse the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) of exerting dominance.
Following a controversial appointment of National Assembly leaders, MPs from the affiliate parties have decried unfair allocation of posts.
"We shelved our ambitions and agreed to support Raila, it is unfortunate that his party is going for every position available," Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa of Ford-Kenya told reporters on Tuesday.
The legislator has accused the ODM Party of intending to control the sharing of leadership positions in Parliament after an initial list was rejected on Monday.
Mr Wamalwa, who had been appointed as deputy Minority Whip, has warned that unless the matter is addressed then a split will occur in the coalition.
"The ODM MPs want to take everything. How can they have the presidential candidate and still demand the Minority leader as well as deputy in the Senate," Wamalwa posed.
The Monday statement had suggested that Suba North Member of Parliament John Mbadi (ODM) would be Leader of the Minority at the National Assembly, deputised by Lugari MP Ayub Savula (ANC).
While Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula (Ford-K) would retain his position as the Minority Leader in the Senate and be deputised by Siaya Senator James Orengo (ODM).

NASA coalition CEO Norman Magaya, however, dismissed the announced list and declared that the coalition would retreat to discuss the allocations.
