The security details of National Super Alliance (NASA) Leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka have been withdrawn.
The police officers assigned to the opposition leaders were reportedly recalled and told to hand over their police radios so that they could not monitor police communication.
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Tuesday disclosed that he was stripped of his bodyguards on Monday evening.
"Withdrawal of my security and that of Raila is illegal, the law requires presidential candidates an all-around security protection," Kalonzo Musyoka stated.
Raila's Spokesman Dennis Onyango revealed five bodyguards attached to the former Prime Minister were asked last night to report to GSU headquarters in Nairobi for further instructions.
ODM's Director of Communication Philip Etale condemned the move revealing the guards have been deployed to North Eastern Kenya.
On the other hand, Deputy Inspector General Joel Kitili refuted the claims stating that he was not aware of the move.
This comes after National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders declared that nationwide protests against the IEBC would kick off today.
Speaking on Sunday during a rally in Kangemi, Nairobi, the leaders announced that they will make good their threats of mass action to ensure that the IEBC officials whom they consider compromised are removed.
Mr Odinga declared that the compromised officials would be forced out of their Anniversary Towers offices if they refused to leave.
"If those thieves, CEO Ezra Chiloba and his partners, refuse to leave on their own terms, and if they refuse to cancel the contract with Al Ghurair then on Tuesday morning all of Kenya will go there to remove them," Mr Odinga had declared.
Kalonzo Musyoka echoed the remarks saying that if they refused to leave then the country would not have an election.
"If they don't remove the thieves in the IEBC then there will be no election. We are not saying that we will come with guns and spears but according to the law, there will be no election," Kalonzo reiterated.
