There was panic in Mombasa after the Coastal city experienced a massive power outage for the better part of Tuesday morning.
According to the Kenya Power company, the outage was caused by a technical fault that occurred at Kipevu substation affecting the city and its environs.
The Company's General Manager for Network Management, Eng. Daniel Tare, explained the incident while confirming that his team had already managed to restore power supply to most parts of the city by Tuesday afternoon.
He added that the company’s technical teams were engaged in the process of reconnecting Mombasa Island and Makande areas.
"We are working hard to normalise supply as quickly as possible. Any inconvenience caused by the outage is highly regretted," the engineer stated.
