President Uhuru Kenyatta's team has adopted a National Super Alliance (NASA) plan to have elected Members of Parliament serving as agents in the October election.
Addressing Jubilee Party elected Governors, Senators, and MPs at State House on Monday, Deputy President William Ruto stated that the leaders will be the chief agents of President Kenyatta and will be responsible for signing and getting Forms 34B at their constituencies.
The DP askes the Leaders to recruit and manage agents for each of the polling stations and ensure that they are well trained ahead of the election.
DP Ruto Ruto noted that Jubilee was working to ensure it has agents in all polling stations and its leaders are well acquainted with the election rules to pretend any anomalies.
"We are having a meeting with all our leaders to apprise ourselves on election management. We want to make sure the mischief and loopholes that were used in the nullification of a fairly won election do not happen again.
"The party will identify and have a complete list of agents in all polling stations within this week," the DP stated.
President Kenyatta on his part reminded the Jubilee elected leaders that they were his soldiers on the ground and requested them to work tirelessly to ensure that he gets more votes.
The new plan by Jubilee to use their elected MPs as agents is a replica of what Opposition led by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho had announced as their new strategy to avoid electoral misconduct.
Addressing a rally at Mathare earlier this month, Joho stated that in the October election they would rely on both elected Members of Parliament and other party leaders to serve as agents in polling stations across the country.
In the proposed plan, Embakasi East Legislator Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino was set to be deployed as an agent in Kiambu County whereas Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati and businessman Steve Mbogo being proposed to serve as agents in other centers.
